Rhos-on-Sea : North Wales

About our Town

Rhos-on-Sea or Llandrillo-yn-Rhos is a small seaside community within the Conwy County Borough and a mile to the northwest of Colwyn Bay, on the coast. It is named after the Welsh kingdom of Rhos established there in late Roman times as a sub-kingdom of Gwynedd. Rhos is within easy reach of the Mountains and Lakes of the Snowdonia National Park, the area is breathtakingly beautiful and abounds with leisure and recreational activities. The cosmopolitan delights of Llandudno and medieval Conwy with its castle and historic port are also but a short drive away. The whole area is well served by the A55 Expressway and Intercity Rail Network.

About The Weather Station

The station is powered by a LaCrosse WS-2300 wireless weather station. The data is collected every second and the site is updated every 5 seconds using Weather Display Software.

The station comprises; an anemometer (wind direction and speed sensor), rain gauge, temperature and humidity sensor which are located on top of a 3 storey building within 100m of the beach. All this equipment has been installed and situated in optimal positions for the highest accuracy possible.

March 2016 - The site is now run on a new robust server offering improved stability and reliability.
